Maximum dose: 75 mg\/kg\/day in divided doses. The total dose should not exceed 4 g\/day.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Maintenance treatment:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>To be decided individually, starting dose is 15\u201130 mg\/kg\/day in divided doses. The total dose should not exceed 2 g\/day.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>It is usually recommended that half the adult dose be given to children with a body weight of up to 40 kg and the normal adult dose to those over 40 kg.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>The doctor&#8217;s dosage instructions must always be followed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>The enteric tablets are swallowed whole.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>They must not be chewed, crushed or split before swallowing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>If you think that the effect of Asacol is too strong or too weak, you should consult your doctor or pharmacist about this.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you take too much Asacol:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>Contact a doctor, hospital or the Poisons Information Center if you have taken too much medicine or if a child has taken medicine by accident.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>For other questions about the medicine,
