Description
What Adefovir dipivoxil is used for :

- Adefovir dipivoxil is used to treat chronic hepatitis B, infection with hepatitis B virus (HBV), in adults.

- Infection with the hepatitis B virus leads to damage to the liver.
Do not take Adefovir dipivoxil:

- If you are allergic to adefovir, adefovir dipivoxil or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
Warnings and precautions:

- Talk to your doctor before using Adefovir dipivoxil.

- Tell your doctor if you have had kidney disease, or if tests have shown problems with your kidneys. Adefovir dipivoxil can affect the way your kidneys work.

- If you are over 65 years of age your doctor may monitor your health more closely.
Possible side effects:

- Headache

- Feeling sick (nausea)

- Diarrhoea

- Digestive problems

- Stomach pain

- Kidney problems
Other medicines and Adefovir dipivoxil:

- Do not take Adefovir dipivoxil if you are taking any medicines containing tenofovir.

- How to take Adefovir dipivoxil

- The recommended dose is one 10 mg tablet each day, taken with or without food.
How to store Adefovir dipivoxil:
-
- Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
-
- Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the bottle and carton after {EXP}.

- The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.

- Do not store above 300C (860F).
- Store in the original package in order to protect from moisture.
