Description
Medication name: Nizoral 2% Cream (commonly referred to as Nizoral 20 mg/g Cream) contains Ketoconazole (2%), a broad-spectrum antifungal medication.
Each tube contains 30 grams of cream for external use only.
Drug class: Topical antifungal / Imidazole derivative
Use: Nizoral Cream is used to treat fungal and yeast infections of the skin, including athlete’s foot (tinea pedis), ringworm (tinea corporis), jock itch (tinea cruris), seborrheic dermatitis, and cutaneous candidiasis.
It helps relieve itching, redness, and scaling associated with these infections.
How it works: Ketoconazole works by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes.
This disrupts the cell membrane structure, causing the fungus to weaken and die, effectively clearing the infection.

-
